Dr. William A.J. Higgs is a Sydney-based barrister and legal scholar with a diverse background in law and engineering. Before pursuing a career at the bar, Dr. Higgs served as senior legal counsel, specializing in banking and finance, including securitization and debt capital markets.
He holds a Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours, a Bachelor of Engineering (Aerospace), a Master of Engineering, a Master of Biomedical Engineering, and a PhD. His doctoral research focused on product liability law, particularly in the context of engineering.
Dr. Higgs has contributed to legal literature, authoring chapters on topics such as liquidation, bankruptcy, and mortgages for the “Lawyers Practice Manual NSW” published by Thomson Reuters.
